Next up -- Chicago and New York!

On the next episode of the Detention Club, we will be visiting Chicago and New York, two cities loved by Sinatra and Friends. In fact, whenever he was in Chicago, Frank Sinatra dined at the Twin Anchors in Old Town. My father would see him there occasionally when he would go out on Sunday nights with his family.

This episode is dedicated to  songs featuring Chicago and New York. In fact, some of Sinatra's most recognizable songs are about those two cities!

Also in this episode are songs from Sammy Davis, Jr.,  Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli and Nancy Sinatra.

S2E03- Pop Goes Sinatra!

On the new episode of the FS Detention Club, we explore Frank Sinatra's relationship with pop music. For a time, Sinatra was pop music. Then, as he got older, Sinatra's music became recategorized to "American Standards" or "Easy Listening" or "Adult Contemporary." During the latter part of his career, Sinatra often dipped his toes into the popular music by covering some of the the biggest hits of the time. We will listen to these covers, plus the crossover hits that Sinatra had that spanned all charts.

This episode premieres on November 10 at 2pm, Eastern on Vinyl Voyage Radio.
